Measuring For Radiator Covers: The Process
From our years of experience in the joinery industry, we have found there is a simple guide that you can follow to get the best measurements.
Total Time: 1 hour
Measuring The Length Of Your Radiator

Determine the maximum width of your radiator, encompassing the valves on both sides. Increase your measurement by 50mm to account for the 20mm attachment allowance of DeepClean radiator covers. The combined measurement will establish the necessary length dimension for your radiator covers.
Measuring The Height Of Your Radiator

The next step is to measure the height of your radiator. When doing so it’s best practice to add an additional 50mm. This 50mm is to allow the cover to have space to encompass the radiator entirely. While measuring the radiator’s height, it’s important to check if your floor is even. Ensure to measure both sides of the radiator, particularly if it exceeds 1800mm in length. If your radiator is on an uneven slant, we have the capability to craft a radiator cover with a sloped plinth to establish a uniformly level surface.
Measuring the Depth

When measuring depth you need to measure from the wall to the outermost part of the radiator, if there is any pipework or protruding parts of the radiator it will need to be taken into account. The cover needs to go from the wall to the outermost point of the radiator, similarly to measuring height add an extra 50mm so that the radiator cover is not pushing against the radiator itself.
Measuring for cutouts (skirting boards)

One of the most forgotten measurements is the skirting board cutouts, it’s absolutely vital that you measure these correctly to get a flush finish. Once you have all the measurements, all you need to do is decide on is colour and style.
If your not comfortable in measuring, it’s better to consult with a professional.
